What we do
Empowering people, strengthening communities, and driving system change through person-centred, culturally competent action and asset based approaches.
At GOS&D, we work alongside communities to create opportunity, connection, and change. Our approach is person-centred, multi-lingual, and culturally competent — helping people overcome barriers, build confidence, and shape the systems that affect their lives. From advice and learning to safety and advocacy, our work blends practical support with long-term impact, empowering individuals and communities to thrive across Ealing and beyond.
Core Work
We create inclusive spaces for connection and prevention, and we deliver community-led interventions that challenge hate crime, extremism, and harmful ideologies such as FGM.
We turn lived experience into action, leading multi-partner consortia (Everyone Matters, Ealing Connecting Communities, GNP) that amplify grassroots voice and influence systems.
Our Current Projects
National Lottery Community Fund
A flagship Reaching Communities project led by GOS&D with five diverse community partners across Ealing. Co-designing practical solutions, amplifying local voices, and driving system change through culturally competent support.
Ealing Connecting Communities
Led by GOS&D with eight grassroots organisations to strengthen collaboration between residents, voluntary groups, and services — ensuring every community voice shapes local decision‑making.
Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC)
Funded by NIHR. GOS&D (the only civil society org represented to the NIHR panel) helps shape the programme with Participatory Action Research so community voices drive health policy and local solutions.
Imperial Charity & Southall Community Alliance
Hands-on project supporting marginalised women to grow food and learn healthy cooking — building confidence, connection, and healthier habits.
ESOL & Language Learning
Unique ESOL programme using role play and real-life scenarios to build practical confidence for daily life, work, and community participation.
Digital & Financial Inclusion
Accessible sessions that help residents get online, manage money, and navigate essential services — promoting independence and resilience.
Employment Support
Personalised employability and enterprise support — coaching, mentoring, and clear pathways into sustainable jobs or self-employment.
Community Capacity & Partnerships
Through Everyone Matters, GNP, and Ealing Connecting Communities, we strengthen smaller, often BAMER-led organisations to deliver high-quality, community-driven services.
